“Competent to serve”

We want to see healthy churches full of men and women with greater knowledge of God, greater maturity in Christ, and greater competency to minister in their local churches to the glory of God. The Midwest Church Leadership Training Center has been created as a co-op of like-minded churches as a place where we will train men and women who want to grow in maturity in Christ and fruitfulness in their service in their local churches.

It’s sometimes not wise, often not possible, and almost never “necessary” to ship men and women off to seminary for church leadership training. This mentality can severely limit who “qualifies” to serve in church leadership.  Further, it can short circuit the whole discipleship and training method that Christ gave to us by his example and explicit instruction.

Instead, we want to be a part of God raising up many “lay” church leaders (men and women) right where God has them through a more intentional discipleship and training program.
